ART-RESIDENCIES

Among the activities of The Provinces is the organization of art-residencies that aim to support the photographic practice of the invited photographers with lectures, workshops, portfolio reviews, discussions and screenings in a context that promotes the creative exchange of views and collaboration, emphasizing the strengthening of communication and networking between photographers.

In these photographic meetings, participants together with members of The Provinces have the opportunity to work together on a photographic project related to their host region.

Art-Residency –  Summer 2020

The Provinces organizes in the summer of 2020 the first pilot 7-day art residency -&workshop in Galani village, near Nestos River,

Participation is by invitation to selected photographers whose work focuses (among other topics possibly) on a systematic documentation of the Greek province.

The invited speaker for the art-residency is Emmanouella Kantzia (Princeton A.B. and Harvard M.A., Ph.D.), who will present a lecture on The ‘Province’ in Literature.

The program includes:

Presentation of participants’ work
Portfolio reviews
Lectures and screenings
Discussion groups
On-site photographic project production
Exhibition in Athens with selected images produced during the residency.
