The series Vulture is a story about the relationship between a community and nature. Crete is a place that the past is omnipresent. Constant battles through the history have largely shaped the Cretan identity. One can hear stories of war almost anywhere in the mountainous regions, as the area’s collective unconscious is flooded by the worship of traditions, pride and the earth. However, history can some times become exaggeration and the balance between reality and fantasy becomes blurred.
As the Cretan author Nikos Kazatzakis, once said “The people of this land has fought and suffered so much, that they are so used to death, they can never be frightened by it and can laugh and play with it”.
